Florida State lacrosse has hired 2024 national champion Rachel Clark (Conestoga) as an assistant coach for the Seminoles, head coach Sara Tisdale announced recently. Clark joins Tisdale and associate head coach MacKenzie Plaskey on FSU’s inaugural coaching staff ahead of its first season in the spring.
“We are thrilled to welcome Rachel to Tallahassee,” Tisdale said. “As a player, Rachel has reached the top of our sport, being a member of Team USA and competing for and winning ACC and national championships. Throughout the interview process, it felt like Rachel was already a member of our program. We share the same mindset and work ethic that is needed to ensure FSU lacrosse is synonymous with the most elite teams in the country.”
Throughout her four years playing lacrosse at Boston College and Virginia, Clark – the 2021 Phillylacrosse.com Co-Player of the Year – built an impressive resume. She was a member of Team USA, named First-Team All-ACC four times, earned Inside Lacrosse First-Team All-American recognition her senior season and was named 2025 ACC Attacker of the Year. Additionally, her academic excellence earned her three All-ACC Academic Team selections.
“Having played my college career in the ACC, it’s been the dream to return to this incredible conference and join Sara and Mac as we launch Florida State’s first-ever women’s lacrosse program,” Clark said. “From the moment I arrived on campus, I’ve felt the energy and commitment from everyone—whether it’s the athletic department, the academic support staff, the trainers, or especially the student-athletes. As a senior, Clark set a Boston College single-season record with 106 goals while accounting for a team-high 128 points. She helped lead the Eagles to the semifinal round of the NCAA Tournament, registering a hat trick in the contest. Clark finished her playing career with 311 goals and 380 points.
In 2024, Clark scored 78 goals and recorded a career-high 23 assists. She was one of only four players nationally, and the only one in the ACC, with at least 75 goals and 20 assists. During the NCAA Tournament, Clark was responsible for 21 points, including six-point performances in wins over Syracuse and two goals with a career-high four assists in the national championship victory over Northwestern.
Clark played her first two seasons at Virginia, where she led the Cavaliers in goals and points as a two-year starter. She earned two All-ACC First Team selections and was the 2022 ACC Freshman of the Year.
Clark arrives in Tallahassee with prior coaching experience, bringing a background in leading private and small-group sessions for girls. She focused on drills to enhance skill development while providing individualized instruction to address player strengths and areas of improvement. Clark previously coached for Dynasty Elite Lacrosse and Philly Blast, tailoring practices to support team cohesion and ensure continuous player progression in a competitive environment.
A native of Devon, Pennsylvania, Clark was a two-time US Lacrosse High School All-American (2019, 2021), Under Armour Senior All-American (2021), and was ranked No. 9 nationally by Inside Lacrosse in the Class of 2021.
Clark graduated from Boston College in 2025 with a bachelor’s degree in applied psychology and human development.
