Staff Report

Episcopal Academy, ranked No. 1 and No. 2 in the two major national boys’ lacrosse polls, will face a stiff challenge Thursday night when it meets Long Island power St. Anthony’s at Rutgers University.

The Churchmen, who vaulted to the top of the polls with a 10-9 win over Lawrenceville School (NJ) last week, are 6-0. EA is No. 1 in the Inside Lacrosse rankings and No. 2 behind Culver Academy (IN) in the USA Lacrosse Magazine rankings.

St. Anthony’s (3-1) is No. 5 in both polls. The Friars lost to Culver, 11-8, in their opener and since have defeated their New York Catholic League rival Chaminade (11-9) and DC power St. John’s (12-9).
