Mark Campanile log:

Mark Campanile

High School: West Chester Rustin

Graduation Year:
2015

Position: Attack

College Choice:
UMass Lowell

Club Affiliation:
Old School Lacrosse

Major lacrosse honors: 4-Year Varsity Letterman, 2nd leading scorer in Rustin lacrosse history

What will you major in/study? Criminal Justice and Biology

Why did you choose school? “I visited the campus and loved every aspect of it! The energy and excitement was intense even in the summer, so I can’t wait to see what it’s like when all the students are there! UMass is well known for academic excellence, which includes a family of schools. I have always wanted to play for a Division I program since I first picked up a stick eight years ago, and getting in on the start of a new program is exciting! My parents have taught me that when choosing a college or university, that it is academics first and foremost, and if I can play Lacrosse, that is a bonus. Again, UMass Lowell has an excellent history of being one of the top schools in the east.”

Outlook for your High School team? “I am excited about the season. Our attack squad has been together for a few years now, and coach Hannum will have us primed and ready. We have a lot of great guys coming back and new guys coming in from middle school who can make an impact. Two notable returning players are Tyler Dougherty a midfielder, and goalie, Kyle Mullin; both have a lot of potential and they’re only sophomores.”

Other Comments:
“I thank God for blessing me with health and ability. I thank my parents for investing so much time, money, and energy in providing me with great opportunities to play this game. I’d like to thank my first lacrosse coach; the late, great, Drew Bauer who coached me in West Chester U9 instructional. His passion for the game inspired me and I never picked up my baseball glove again!

“Thanks to all of my West Chester Lacrosse coaches, in particular Mfon Udo; my Philly Fever Lacrosse coaches, Travis Loving, Adam Meuller, Liam O’Conner and Kyle Wharton; my Old School Lacrosse coaches, Bob DiIonno, and Kurt Fisher; my high school coaches, Tommy Hannum, Ryan Leister, Mike Holstien, Mike McGuane, Kevin Philiban, and from my freshman and sophomore years Jason Wolensky.

“A great big thanks to Joe Dunn, Brad Elkin, and Matt Toth. They took me in and mentored me in all aspects of being a college student athlete! I’d like to thank my shooting partners, Joe Carboni and Pete Clark.”
