EXETER — District 1 runner-up Radnor is headed back to the PIAA state championship game.
The Raptors rolled past District 3 champion Manheim Township, 16-3, in Tuesday’s PIAA Class 3A semifinal at Exeter Township High School, advancing to their sixth straight state final appearance.
Radnor (20-5) took control early with a 5-1 first quarter and 6-2 second quarter, building an 11-3 halftime lead. The Raptors then shut out Manheim Township (22-2) in the second half, outscoring the Blue Streaks 5-0 over the final two quarters.

Eight different Radnor players scored in the win.
Junior attackman Finn Petrone, a Lehigh commit, led with a game-high eight points on two goals and six assists.
“I was getting slid to a lot, and I feel like my vision has improved a lot over the years, especially this year,” Petrone said. “Being able to find the open guy has been big.”
Petrone said Radnor’s preparation played a major role in the win.
“We watched a lot of film individually and as a team,” he said. “That helped us prepare a lot more than just getting a scout and reading over it.”
Sophomore goalie Teddy Curry, made 12 saves while allowing just three goals through three quarters. Curry was busy early, helping Radnor settle in defensively during a first half where Manheim Township generated chances.
“We try to focus on what we can do better and practice hard, challenging each other,” Curry said.
When asked about his role with the defense in front of him, Curry pointed to the team’s connection.
“We’re all a family,” Curry said. “They’ve got my back if I let one in. I think that’s our whole team, with our bench being loud all day for the team.”
Radnor now turns its attention to Saturday’s PIAA 3A state championship game against District 12 champion La Salle (21-3), a 12-4 winner over Springfield-Delco.
It will be a rematch of the 2024 PIAA 3A state final, which Radnor won in its run of four straight PIAA championships. La Salle also defeated Radnor earlier this season, 7-3, in a non-conference matchup at La Salle on April 12.
“We definitely think we can win, and I feel like there is no other way to think about it,” Petrone said.
Radnor head coach Mark Petrone said the Raptors have kept their focus simple throughout the postseason.
“We take it one day at a time, one step at a time,” Mark Petrone said. “Minute to minute, that’s how we win it. This was the only game on our schedule for today, and that’s all we thought about.”
This Radnor group is younger than some of the Raptors’ recent state finalist teams, with alumni now scattered across several Division I programs. But the standard has remained the same.
“Everyone’s got a role,” Mark Petrone said. “Everyone’s got to do their job, and to the best of their ability.”
Mark Petrone also credited Radnor’s scout team and second-string players for helping prepare the Raptors throughout the week.
As for the upcoming matchup with La Salle, Mark Petrone said Radnor will enjoy the win before preparing for the Explorers.
“We’re going to enjoy this tonight,” Petrone said. “We played them earlier this year. We’ll play better this second time around. They’ll know us a little better, and we’ll know them a little better.”
Senior attackman and Cornell commit Tommy Goldstein added three goals for Radnor, while freshman attackman Riley Petrone had three goals and one assist. Senior attackman Zach French also scored three times.
Sophomore midfielder Landyn Niles contributed two goals and one assist, junior midfielder Max Peterson scored once, and senior defenseman Luke Reilly added a goal. Senior goalie Cole Jennings made two saves in the fourth quarter to preserve the second-half shutout.
For Manheim Township, senior attackman Brock Meglic, a University of Mount Saint Vincent commit, scored twice. Junior defenseman Calvin Richardson added one goal, and senior midfielder Brady Garland had one assist.
