Wings release final roster for 2014 season

The Philadelphia Wings of the National Lacrosse League (NLL) finalized the team’s official 20-man roster heading into the 2014 NLL season. The Wings also set three spots on their four-man practice squad.

This season’s roster is highlighted by the Wings’ recent additions: Ryan Ward, Tracey Kelusky and Evan Kirk. Ward and Kelusky were signed in free agency. Kirk was acquired in an offseason trade involving the Minnesota Swarm and Colorado Mammoth. Top returnees from last season include Captain Brodie Merrill, 2013 leading scorer Kevin Crowley and defensive standout Brett Manney.

Forwards (8): Jordan Hall, Kevin Crowley (Shipley assistant coach), Kevin Ross, Ryan Ward, Tracey Kelusky, Garrett Thul, Pat Saunders, Kyle Buchanan

Transition (4): Brodie Merrill, Kyle Sweeney (Springfield-Delco), CJ Costabile, Joel White

Defensemen (6): Brett Manney (Holy Ghost Prep/Delaware/NXT coach/Showcase Lax Director), Mike Manley, Chad Wiedmaier (Princeton), John Ranagan, Brian Megill, Michael Poppleton

Goalies (2): Evan Kirk, Don Alton

Practice Squad (3): Bill McGlone (Ridley/Maplezone Training Director), Eric Hoffman (Pennridge/Urisnus), Michael Diehl

Physically Unable to Perform (PUP): Brendan Mundorf, Max Seibald, Rob Campbell, Kyle Wales

The Philadelphia Wings will host the Buffalo Bandits at Wells Fargo Center for their 2014 season home opener on Sunday, January 12, at 4 p.m.
