Public League boys’ lacrosse semifinals: George Washington, Northeast advance to title game

George Washington and Northeast advanced to the Public League boys lacrosse championship game with victories Monday in semi-final games played at the Germantown Supersite.

In the early game, #1 seed Northeast defeated #4 seed Mastery Charter, 12-2. Three Northeast players had 6 points each – Eric O’Brien (5 G, 1 A), David Fieldhouse (3 G, 3 A), and John Liebig (2 G, 4 A). Matt Ragan contributed four points on two goals and two assists.

Scoring for Mastery Charter were Teddy Fisher (1 G, 1 A) and Dwayne Broadwater (1 G).

In the later game, #2 seed George Washington beat #3 seed Delaware Valley Charter, 8-2. Phelan Sweeney (2 G), Jason Link (2 G), Tyler Schwarz (2 G), John Kenny (1 G, 1 A) and Tori Gordon (2 A) had two points apiece for George Washington.

Anthony Ianuzzi (1 G) and AJ Sahlanis (1 A) contributed 1 point each. Paris Washington had both Del Val goals and Onzie Tate had one assist.

The Public League Boys Lacrosse Championship game will be played on Wednesday, 5/23, at 4:45 p.m. at the Gratz Supersite. The winner will advance to the first District 12 championship game Thursday vs. the Catholic League champion at the Germantown Supersite.
