Women’s lacrosse: Penn downs No. 4 Duke, 13-10

Bridget Waclawik had three goals and an assist while Meredith Cain matched that while adding four caused turnovers and four ground balls as No. 10 Penn knocked off its second highly-ranked team from the Tar Heel State in 2011 with a 13-10 win over No. 4 Duke at Drexel’s Vidas Field today.

Caroline Bunting also had three goals and Lindsey Smith (Unionville) added a pair as Penn turned an early back-and-forth affair into a comfortable win to improve to 11-4 this season.

Emma Hamm (Baldwin School) led the Blue devils with four goals and Kim Wenger (Great Valley) added two.

Maddie Poplawski (Springfield-Delco) and Tori Bensen each scored once for Penn.
