Kilpatrick, a running back, led the defending state champion Sals to a 9-3 record and a berth in the Division 1 semifinals. Kilpatrick finished the season with 1,663 yards rushing and 21 rushing touchdowns and in his career had over 5,000 total yards and 45 touchdowns.

Kilpatrick received his lacrosse honor Thursday at the All-State lacrosse banquet.

“It was awesome to receive both awards,” he said. “I could have never done it, however, without the help of amazing teammates and coaches. It was a great honor but couldn’t compare to the feeling of winning the state championship in lax.”

The Sals toppled defending champion Tower Hill, 7-5, for the state title two weeks ago.
