Salesianum School (DE) rising junior midfielder Sean Giampietro has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at Ohio State University.

Salesianum rising junior Sean Giampietro has committed to Ohio State

Giampietro was a First Team All-State pick in 2011 when he had 30 goals and 20 assists and helped the Sals claim the Delaware state championship. A native of Garnet Valley, he plays club lacrosse for Mesa Fresh 2013 and Team 302.

Giampietro also considered Maryland, North Carolina and Princeton.

A First Honors student, he plans to study business.

“Ohio State had the nicest campus,” he said. “I got along with the coaches very well and even though the school is big, it’s compact and the facilities are amazing.”

Giampietro is the fourth Salesianum rising senior to commit to a Division I school. The others are rising seniors Dillon Walker (Marist, attackman), Justin Verratti (Loyola, defenseman) and Kyle Gangemi (midfielder/FO, Loyola).

Next year we should repeat,” he said. “We have a lot of guys back and we also have a lot of (talented) young guys.”

Giampietro wished to thank Sals head coach Bobby Healy, Nesa Fresh coach Jon Sims and Team 302 coach Jay Motta.
