Brett Manney, a member of the National Lacrosse League champion Washington Stealth and a graduate of Holy Ghost Prep, will be running boys’ skills training sessions with other noted pro players in Newtown, Bucks County, during the next few months.
The training clinics will be held from 6-7:30 p.m. on the field behind the Staples and Council Rock North high school just off the Newtown Bypass, 10 West Road. Boys of all ages are welcome to sign up.
The first session, on Aug. 29, will be for defense. Special pro trainer is Virginia volunteer assistant coach Steve Holmes (Germantown Academy). The next session is on Aug. 30 and will focus on goaltending. Drexel assistant Chris Collins (University of Delaware grad) is the guest trainer.
The sessions cost $70 each and participants should first contact Manney at bmanney13@gmail.com. Participants may can pay at the event. More training sessions will be held in September and October on shooting and face-offs. Details on those will be released later.
