A golf outing/fundraiser will be held on Aug. 30 at Sunnybrook Golf Club in Plymouth Meeting to benefit Hill School sophomore lacrosse/ice hockey player Wes Schlauch, who is recovering from a stroke suffered during the winter.
Schlauch, 17, began his recovery in the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia Pediatric

Intensive Care Unit. On March 28 Schlauch was transferred to Good Shepherd Pediatric Care Unit in Bethlehem for intensive inpatient rehab.
Schlauch has all his cognitive brain functions and is communicating through visual signs and a special speaking device. With his tenacious determination and the tireless support of family and friends (visit the “Team Wes” fanpage on www.facebook.com/TeamWes ) he is making daily progress on his journey back home, in school and on the ice and playing fields.
The event begins at 1 p.m. in shotgun format. Cocktails and dinner follow at 5:30 p.m.
Team Wes has partnered with the National Transplant Assistance Fund (NTAF), a leader in Fundraising Support for Transplant and Catastrophic Injury.
Contributions are tax-deductible and the golf outing costs $225 while dinner-only is $60. A foursome can register for $800. There also will be a silent auction and prizes for closest to the hole. Registration deadline is Friday, Aug. 20.
