Two more Philly rising senior girls have made verbal commitments to Division I colleges.
Unionville midfielder Lizzy Carney has committed to Penn State and Germantown Academy midfielder/attack Maggie Ebbott has committed to Fairfield.
Carney was a second-team All-Ches-Mont League pick this year, helping the Indians go undefeated in winning the league title while reaching the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association semifinals.
Carney is the second Unionville rising senior to commit to Penn State; goalie Melissa Lloyd committed two weeks ago to play for the Nittany lions in 2010-11. Hatboro-Horsham’s Lauren Purvis and Episcopal Academy’s Avery Curley also have committed to Penn State. A third rising senior at Unionville, midfielder Lindsey Smith, has committed to Penn.
Ebbott was a second-team All-Inter-Ac League pick, helping Germantown Academy finish 16-11 overall. She had 61 goals and 46 assists.
