Penncrest senior attacker Dan Jones is one of 11 members of the first class of signees for Jacksonville as the Dolphins open play in Division I in 2010.

Jones, a 6-0, 185-pounder, scored 29 goals and had 34 assists during his junior season, and as a member of the Duke’s Lacrosse Club, which won the Champ Camp championships in 2007 and 2008.

Jacksonville coach Matt Kerwick was pleased to announce his recruits Monday. “We have a great group of young men that are committed to building the foundation for this program,” Kerwick said. “I’m very excited about the potential in this group and am looking forward to getting them together for our first practice next fall.

“It has been a busy and aggressive first couple months, but I am confident that with this initial group of commitments and the young men who are still considering becoming a part of the first Division I team in Florida, that we will hit the ground running next year.”

Other signees included attackers: Owen Green (The Lovett School, Atlanta, Ga.); TJ Kenary (Milton High School, Milton, Ga.); Dan McNulty (Robinson High School, Fairfax, Va.); and Ryan Serville (St. Mary Catholic Secondary School, Toronto, Ontario.

Midfielders include: Cameron Mann (Salisbury School, Hamilton, Ontario); Culver Bradbury (Huntingtown High School , Huntingtown, Md.); John Linnan (Penn Yan Academy, Penn Yan, N.Y.); Mike Williams (DeMatha Catholic High School, Crofton, Md.; and Ryan Elfeld (Long Beach High School, Long Beach, N.Y.).
