Matt Mackrides (Malvern Prep/Penn State incoming freshman) scored two goals and Matt Dolente (Malvern Prep/Johns Hopkins rising sophomore) won 23 of 37 face-offs as the U.S. opened 2008 International Lacrosse Federation U-19 World Championship play Thursday with a 20-15 win over the Iroquois at Percy Perry Stadium in Coquitlam, British Columbia.
U.S. attacker Andrew Feinberg (Owings Mills, Md./McDonogh/Brown) led all scorers with five goals, followed closely by teammate Craig Dowd (East Northport, N.Y./Northport/Georgetown) with four.
