Bridgewater-Raritan (N.J.) senior face-off specialist/midfielder Brian Lenskold has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at Manhattan College (N.Y.).

Bridgewater-Raritan senior Brian Lenskold (Twist Lacrosse) has committed to Manhattan College

Lenskold, who plays club lacrosse for Twist, has won 85 percent of his face-offs this season for the 5-2 Panthers.

Lenskold, an honor student his first semester, plans to major in marketing or finance at Manhattan.

The location of Manhattan’s campus had a lot to offer for Lenskold.

“It’s only 45 minutes away from so my parents can come and see me play,” he said. “I wasn’t sure how I felt about it at first but the city atmosphere was intriguing, and playing for a Division I program was a big plus.”

On an official visit at Manhattan, Lenskold was able to speak with head coach Tim McIntee. This conversation reassured him that Manhattan was the right choice.

“Coach (McIntee) was very upfront with me, he told me the truth,” Lenskold said. “He told me my role and was honest with me.”

Lenskold joins teammate Tyler Barbarich as the lone Division I commits for the Panthers. Barbarich, a face-off specialist and member of Twist lacrosse, has signed a National Letter of Intent to play at the University of Delaware.

Lenskold expects his team to return to the state tournament.

“We have a chance to be really good this year,” he said. “I feel we will definitely return to the state championships.”
