Junior Kelly Condon (Abington) scored three goals and added an assist to help Marist overcome strong efforts by freshman Ana White (Strath Haven) and sophomore Jess Rothstein as it claimed a 13-12 double overtime victory Wednesday over Lafayette.
White scored her fourth goal of the game to force a tie in the first overtime. Rothstein added three goals and freshman Katie Mischler (Mount St. Joseph) had three draw controls. The Laopards were making their season debut; Marist is 1-1.
After Marist scored the first goal in the extra six-minute period, Lafayette sophomore attack Addie Godfrey scored on a free position shot to send the game into sudden victory. Marist won it when Ariel Kramer scored with 1:09 left in double overtime.
The Leopards will take the next two days to regroup before taking the field on Saturday at noon vs. La Salle. Face-off is set for 12 p.m. at Rappolt Field.
