Boys’ club update: Rebel Elite wins bracket title at Rutgers MVP Tourney

Rebel Elite won its elite American Division bracket at the Rutgers MVP Tournament last weekend, defeating top teams Laxworld 2011 (MD), True Lacrosse, (IL), Tri State1 (NJ), the Greater Cleaveland Demons, and local rival Mesa Fresh 2011 by a 6-1 score.

Rebel Elite reached the semifinals and lost to eventual tournament winner Green Turtle (MD) 6-4.

The Rebels’ Colin Joka (Plymouth Whitemarsh/committed to Marist) was team’s leading scorer, while Carl Lampe (Episcopal Academy), Beau Gomez (Wissahickon/Navy), Tom Bracaglia (Wissahickon),
Dylan O’Donnell (Pencrest), were strong at close defensemen and Jack Morganthaler, (Malvern Prep) and Brian Topper (Allentown Central Catholic) were keys at long stick midfield.

Andrew Sabia (Roman Catholic) and Ryan McDevitt (Malvern Prep) were strong in goal.
