Pansini & Mezrow and Phillylacrosse.com congratulate this week’s final honorees for the Pansini & Mezrow Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll. Each winner receives a $50 gift certificate to Starbuck’s. Overall male and female winners at the end of the season will receive a large cash prize.

College Choice: Committed to Newberry College in South Carolina to play lacrosse and field hockey
Community Service: Raised $2,200 through Winning for Walt. Walt Kern was a member of the community who along with his wife ran the youth lacrosse league. Pam Kern his wife, was Katie’s first lacrosse coach. Katie started with the idea to help raise money for his medical bills. Walt also has 3 children who are all involved with lacrosse. Walt passed away in November from a long battle with liver disease. In his memory, Katie sold over 400 lacrosse Liver Awareness t-shirts to multiple teams (boys, girls, youth, high school, and college) as well as hosting 1 youth game, 2 boys games, and 1 girls game to raise awareness about liver disease and organ donation. All the money raised is going to the American Liver Foundation in Walt Kerns’ memory. The t-shirts were green and yellow and said Keep Calm and Lax On and they had Walt’s initials on them.
Academic Honors: Class officer, National Honor Society officer, graduated in the top 5%, GPA is 4.22
Awards: Most Athletic in the senior class, 4 time All-Conference Lacrosse, 2 time All-State in lacrosse, All-State and All-Conference field hockey
Lacrosse Honors: Led the state of Delaware in assists (45), was selected 1st team All-Conference and 1st team All-State, scored 44 goals in 2013
