Wissahickon High School Head Boys’ Lacrosse Coach

Wissahickon HS is searching for a Boys’ Head Lacrosse Coach for the 2012-13 school year. Coaches only position; no teaching position linked to the coaching job. Ideally, the candidate played both HS and college lacrosse and has previous coaching experience at the HS level. Candidates must have an excellent working knowledge of coaching all aspects of lacrosse including all PIAA rules; Should be familiar with working with high school athletes in a school setting and be able to work with other sports in a shared setting; Must be good motivators while keeping it “fun” with appropriate emphasis on academics, teamwork and sportsmanship; Must be eligible to receive all three clearances in PA: State Police, Child Abuse and FBI. Marple Newtown varsity boys’ lacrosse coach
Marple Newtown High School is looking for a varsity boys lax coach. Interested candidates should go to the Marple Newtown School District website and apply online. Candidates must have Act 34, Act 151, FBI Clearance, CPR training, and complete an online course on concussions. Freedom Lacrosse is seeking two experienced and highly dedicated coaches to bring our program to the next level. Competing in the highly competitive Lehigh Valley Conference within PIAA District XI, Freedom just completed our first year as Varsity and second year as a JV program.

The ideal candidates will have lacrosse experience playing and/or coaching at the college level; possess strong player development, communication, and organizational skills; a positive attitude and enthusiasm for the sport and players; be able to effectively motivate and develop both the novice and experienced player; able to attract new athletes to the sport; and be available for all scheduled practices and games. Freedom Lacrosse provides a strong support system including an active Board and dedicated Booster Club, AD, parent volunteers and feeder program that will allow our coaching staff to focus on athletics.

Assistant Men’s Lacrosse Coach Opening—Part Time

Penn State Abington, a four year liberal arts campus located in Suburban Philadelphia, has an immediate opening for a part time assistant men’s lacrosse coach. Penn State Abington is an active member of NCAA Division III and a member of the North Eastern Athletic Conference.

Minimum qualifications include:

Arcadia Assistant Coach

Arcadia University, a four-year private institution located in Glenside, Pennsylvania, is seeking applications for the position of Assistant Coach, Men’s Lacrosse. Arcadia is an NCAA Division III institution and a member of the Middle Atlantic Conferences. The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of managing the program, including, but not limited to, practice planning, game preparation/scouting, recruiting, and all other duties as assigned by the head coach. This is a part-time position that carries with it a competitive stipend.

Duties and Responsibilities: • Adhere to and enforce all policies and procedures of the Department of Athletics & Recreation and Arcadia University as well as the rules and regulations of the Middle Atlantic Conferences, the NCAA and other authorities that may legitimately influence the intercollegiate athletics program. • Assist the head coach in managing all aspects of the program, including administrative in-office support. • Aid in the recruitment of student-athletes. Ensure compliance with NCAA guidelines for contacting and entertaining prospects. • Provide support in overseeing the conditioning and training of team members in conjunction with the strength and conditioning coaches and sports medicine staff. • Help conduct regular practice sessions within both traditional and non-traditional seasons as permitted by NCAA rules and regulations. Develop and implement strategies for motivating student-athletes to perform at maximum levels as both individuals and a team. • Assist the head coach in all matters of game preparation and scouting of potential opponents. • Ensure the safety of student-athletes and coaching staff through careful monitoring of the condition of athletic equipment and facilities utilized by the designated sport. Submit requests for repair, maintenance and improvement of facilities as needed. • Develop and articulate to student-athletes the departmental and team rules regarding appearance, practice, class attendance, punctuality, dress code and general standards of behavior. Enforce policies and procedures outlined in the student-athlete handbook, team rules and apply appropriate disciplinary action. • Provide leadership and instruction in the personal and athletic development of student-athletes, including counseling team members in academic, disciplinary and personal matters, when appropriate. • Review and clearly understand all sections of the department employee handbook. • Perform all other duties as assigned by the head coach and/or Director of Athletics.
