Tommy McDermott (Ridley) made 19 saves in a brilliant performance that capped a standout weekend as Delaware County downed York County, 6-3, today to claim the gold medal in the Senior Boys’ Lacrosse Division at the annual Keystone State Games at State College.

Delco went undefeated (6-0-1) in the competition and allowed just 19 goals as McDermott was sizzling hotter than the temperatures on the fields. Liam O’Donnell (Penncrest) paced a standout defense and Kelton Heverly (Ridley) led the attack in the title game with three goals and an assist. Lou Harrison (Ridley) added two goals and Matt Cioeta (Sun Valley) had a goal and an assist.

In the semis, McDermott was brilliant again and Jake Snow (Garnet Valley) had the game-winner as Delco edged Bucks County, 3-2.

Western PA defeated Bucks County, 7-5, in the bronze medal game.

In the Junior Boys’ Lacrosse division, Chester County defeated Bucks County, 6-2, for the gold. In the bronze medal game, Delco toppled Montgomery County 8-4.
