Men’s recruits: Five Philly seniors commit to play Division III lacrosse

Five Philly seniors have recently committed to play Division III lacrosse:

*Ridley goalie Cam Carney (Widener) helped the Green Raiders go 19-5 and make their first appearance in the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association tournament. Carney was a key in helping the Green Raiders yield fewer than five goals 13 times during the season.

*Central Bucks East long stick midfielder Scott Morgan (Centenary) earned Second Team Suburban One Continental honors and helped the Patriots win the conference crown, reach the District 1 championship game and advance to the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association semifinals. Morgan is one of six Philly seniors to commit to Centenary.

*Springfield-Delco goalie Dan O’Connell (DeSales University) helped the Cougars finish 7-4 in the Central League and advance to the second round of the District 1 tournament. O’Connell helped Springfield-Delco yield fewer than five goals nine times.

*New Hope-Solebury midfielder Carter Robinson (Gwynedd Mercy College) was a Second Team Bicentennial Athletic League pick and had 31 goals and 10 assists in helping the Lions win the BAL crown with an undefeated mark.

*Central Dauphin midfielder Kyle Bowman (Elizabethtown College/competed in Philly Showcase in 2009) helped the Rams (9-6) place second in the Keystone Division of the Mid-Penn Conference. Bowman led Central Dauphin in groundballs (51) and was selected Mid-Penn Honorable Mention. Academically, he is in the National Honor Society and finished with a 3.51 GPA. He will major in Biology.
