From Press Release

The Arcadia University men’s lacrosse team opened its 2026 campaign with a commanding 14-4 win over Immaculata University at Jean Lenox West Field, securing the first victory for first-year head coach Will Pilat. Pilat had previously been the Immaculata head coach.

Arcadia received hat tricks from Mason Barndt (Boyertown) and AJ Laibach, along with two goals from Dylan Garber (Wilson). Gavin Lenart (Wilson), Anthony Mangini (Newark Charter), William Burke, Colin Brockman, Quinn Finnegan (Penncrest), and Tristan Johnson also scored once each.

Nate Hudgins (Easton) and Joseph Tesler split time in goal, each playing one half. Hudgins earned the win with three saves while allowing two goals, and Tesler recorded six saves while surrendering two goals.

The Knights controlled the pace throughout the contest, winning 18 of 22 faceoff attempts. Brockman was a perfect 12-for-12 at the faceoff X, while Darian Good went 6-for-10. Arcadia outshot the Mighty Macs 43-22, converted 23 of 25 clear attempts, went 1-for-5 on extra-man opportunities, and collected 44 ground balls.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Immaculata struck first five minutes into the opening quarter to take a 1-0 lead. The advantage was short-lived, as the Knights capitalized on a failed clear attempt. After causing a turnover, Garber scored to tie the game at 1-1.
• Barndt gave Arcadia a 2-1 lead with under two minutes remaining in the first quarter.
• Barndt carried that momentum into the second quarter, scoring 90 seconds into the frame to make it 3-1.
• Laibach converted an extra-man opportunity just 11 seconds into the power play, finishing off an assist from Mangini.
• Immaculata answered two minutes later to cut the deficit to 4-2.
• Laibach responded with back-to-back goals to complete his hat trick and extend the lead to 6-2.
• Burke, Mangini, and Brockman added three goals in less than a minute of game time late in the second quarter, giving the Knights a 9-2 advantage at halftime.
• Johnson, Garber, and Finnegan each scored in the third quarter as Arcadia built a 12-3 lead heading into the fourth.
• Immaculata opened the fourth-quarter scoring before Barndt completed his hat trick and Lenart capped the scoring to secure the 14-4 victory.

Matt Frame (Middle Twp-NJ) led Immaculata with a goal and an assist. Jacob Powell (Paul VI-NJ), Jason Smaron (Father Judge), and Ryan Gorman (Marple Newtown) all scored goals for the Mighty Macs, and Jude Azzarano (Radnor) had a pair of assists. Matthew Ludlow (Upper Moreland) had 14 saves.
