Swarthmore College senior Clay Almgren (Woodinville, Wash.) was named the 2026 PhillySIDA Academic All-Area Men’s Lacrosse Performer of the Year and headlines 12 student-athletes from eight different schools who were named to the Philly-SIDA Academic All-Area Men’s Lacrosse Team.
The Philly-SIDA Academic All-Area program features 30 schools from the Philadelphia region, with the teams voted on by the athletic communications offices. In order to be eligible for Academic All-Area, student-athletes must be in their second year at their current institution and boast a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or better.
Almgren was named the Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Year for the second straight season and received All-America honorable mention from the USILA and USA Lacrosse Magazine. The senior earned his second consecutive All Centennial First Team honor, the third all-conference award of his career, and led the Garnet
in points (85) and assists (37) while finishing second on the team in goals (48). Almgren was the conference leader in points, second in goals, and third in assists as Swarthmore went 11-8, reached the Centennial semifinals, and was nationally ranked five times (peaking at No. 17). Almgren graduates as the program’s all-time leader in goals (145) and points (262) while ranking second in assists (117). He also is a two-time Academic All-Centennial and Centennial Honor Roll honoree.
