From the PLA
The Philadelphia Lacrosse Association would like to invite you to participate in the 2026 PLA Golf Classic on Monday, October 19th at Concord Country Club in Concordville/West Chester, Pennsylvania.
Your participation will support the PLA’s nonprofit mission to promote lacrosse in the Philadelphia Region and Eastern Pennsylvania, particularly through the PLA’s New Start Program, which provides technical and financial assistance to new and growing lacrosse programs. Last year’s PLA Outing at Spring Ford Country Club featured 90 golfers and 45 corporate and individual sponsors and raised close to $29,000. The proceeds from the outing helped the PLA do the following:
- Support the PIAA Public Lacrosse League (and teams) and youth and middle programs in Philadelphia and beyond (including Eyekonz, Harlem Lacrosse, Youth Mentoring Program and others);
- Continue our stick donation and refurbishing program, which benefits teams in the City and Greater Philadelphia;
- Conduct/sponsor coaches’ clinics;
- Maintain the USA Lacrosse Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter Hall of Fame, which inducted the Class of 2025 at Springhaven Country Club on Sunday, October 19, 2025; and
- Promote diversity and inclusion in the sport.
Below is more information regarding the event and its festive format. We would welcome your and your company’s participation and sponsorship to help ensure the outing’s success. All sponsors will be recognized prominently in PLA communications. Online registration will open soon; mail-in registrtation can be done now using the information below.
Please reserve your spot in the outing by completing the registration form and returning it to me as soon as possible, but in any event before Wednesday, October 14th. Space in the outing is limited and registrations will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis.
As in the past, the PLA Golf Classic promises to be a well-subscribed and memorable one. So please come out, catch up with good friends and join the fun, while helping to make it possible for even more boys and girls in our region to discover the joy of America’s native game.

THE COURSE
Concord Country Club is another Philadelphia-area gem of a golf course designed by William Flynn in 1927. Flynn, a founder of the Philadelphia School of golf course architecture, also designed Shinnecock Hills, which hosted the 2026 US Open (Southampton NY), The Country Club (Boston, MA), Cherry Hills (Denver, CO), and a host of great Philadelphia-are courses, including Philadelphia Country Club, Manufacturers, Huntingdon Valley, Rolling Green and others. The course features open, gently sloping holes on the front nine and a tighter, sharper-angled layout weaving through lower wooded terrain and meandering creeks on the back nine.
