Michael Sowers (Upper Dublin, Princeton/Duke) collected four goals and four assists and Kieran McArdle poured in six goals as the Philadelphia Waterdogs punched their ticket to the PLL semifinals on Labor Day here in Philly by defeating the Maryland Whipsnakles, 14-12, Saturday night before a sold-out crowd at TCO Stadium in Eagan, Minn.
CJ Kirst (4G, 1A, 5GB) also had a big game and McArdle tallied the game-winner as the Waterdogs earned a shot at No. 1-seed New York in the Eastern Conference championship game at 3 p.m. at Subaru Park next Monday.
In the nightcap Saturday, the California Redwood toppled the Chaos, 14-12, and will meet Western Conference No. 1-seed Denver Outlaws at noon next Monday.
