Ridley 2024 attack/midfielder Abby Axe has been named the Pansini Law Group Scholar-Athlete of the Week.

The award recognizes senior and junior lacrosse players that excel in academics, service, and athletics.

Abby Axe Profile:

Abby Axe is flanked by several girls she coaches with Ridley Youth Lacrosse

High School: Ridley
Grad Year: 2024
Position: Attack/Midfield
College choice: Iona University
Club Team: Dynasty Elite
Expected College Major: Criminal Justice

Academic Honors: 3.9 GPA, Distinguished Honor Roll all 3 marking periods this year; Enrolled in AP Statistics and AP Psychology; member of National Honors Society.

Service/Extra Curriculars: Member of the RHS Thon at the high school raising $27,031 for Pediatric Cancer this year; Official and coach for Ridley Girls Youth Lacrosse; Volunteers at the Ridley Park Presbyterian Pre-School during the school year and teaches the Summer Bible School; Peer mentor at Grace Park Elementary School; Involved in Morgan’s Message with Dynasty Elite Lacrosse.

Lacrosse Honors: Leads team (4-0) with 10 goals; Among leaders in Delco Girls Scoring in 2022; Athletes Unlimited Futures Selectee for PA Region 2022.

How do you define leadership: “I’ve been watching my (older) sister (Kerstin, a junior playing at Stockton) play at a high level so I know the kind of grit and determination you have to bring to the table, especially in the Central League. Now that I am a captain, I am trying to pass that grit and determination off to the freshmen.”

How do you balance academics, service, and athletics? “One of my teachers for peer mentoring focuses on mental health and she told me to make every day priorities for yourself and to make a to-do list. For me, having priorities of things I need to get done helps me keep down stress with everything going on.”

What are your future goals? ”Law is one possibility for a career path. I’ll be playing Division I lacrosse, so I will consider law school after that. I’ve seen my sister grow through coaching, so I’d consider coaching, maybe in college.”

High school coaches from the 5-county area, Delaware, South Jersey, the Lehigh Valley and Central PA may nominate a player (junior or senior) for the Pansini Law Group Scholar-Athlete of the Week by e-mailing us at golax@phillylacrosse.com. Each honoree receives a scholarship cash award from Pansini Law Group.
