The Holy Family University women’s lacrosse team won its home opener with a convincing 16-3 victory over Edinboro University in a non-conference contest on Saturday afternoon at New Tiger Field. It marked the first official lacrosse game on Holy Family’s new turf facility.

How It Happened
- The Holy Family offense scored the game’s first 14 goals of the game, while the defense stifled the Edinboro offense not allowing the Fighting Scots to score over the span of 42:42 minutes. The Tigers had a 6-0 lead within the first five minutes of the game as five different players scored goals.
- Holy Family controlled the draw most of the game with a 16-7 margin. The Tigers controlled all seven draws in the opening quarter.
- After the seven-goal explosion in the first quarter the Tigers added five more in the second quarter to lead 12-0.
Inside the Box Score
- Senior Mackenzie Santucci (Northern Burlington Regional) scored a season-high five goals; one shy of her career-high. She also added an assist to finish with a team-high six points.
- Freshman Rianna Shields (Council Rock South) tied her season-high with four goals on five shots.
- Senior Tatceyana Pulley (Burlington City) finished with two goals and an assist for three points, while sophomore Tori Wolstenholme (St. Hubert’s) added two goals and two assists for four points.
- Junior goalkeeper Caitlyn Musick (Conwell-Egan Catholic) picked up the win in net as she made a pair of saves for the Tigers.
- As a team, Holy Family recorded a season-high 10 caused turnovers on defense. Seniors Maura Coleman (Little Flower) and Yasmine Machlof (Lower Moreland), along with sophomore Imani Hopkins and freshman Payton Pugh (St. Hubert’s) all caused two turnovers in the game.
- For Edinboro, Kandyce Graham scored two goals, while Traci Culver tallied the team’s other score on the day.
