Philly men’s grads around the country in D1: Greiner (WC East) scores 12 goals; Wierman, Gucwa, Reilly, Moore, McGill, Knobloch, Smith star

Jacksonville redshirt sophomore attackman Jacob Greiner (West Chester East) exploded for back-to-back six-goal games this weekend to lead one of the surprise teams of the year to two more wins in Colorado.

Greiner had six goals Saturday in an 11-9 triumph over No. 14 Denver and backed that up today with six goals and an assist in a 15-9 conquest of the Air Force.

Jacob Greiner: 12 goals

Greiner has 24 goals for the 5-1 Dolphins, who entered the week ranked No. 19 by the USILA and are sure to move up several spots after their fifth straight win.

Also Sunday for Jacksonville, freshman Jackson Intrieri (Wissahickon) had a goal and five assists today and a goal and two groundballs in Saturday’s win.

Maryland 15, Princeton 10

Luke Wierman (Henderson) won 19 of 27 faceoffs, scored twice and scooped 11 groundballs, Kyle Long (Springfield-Delco) had a goal and an assist and Matt Rahill (Springside Chestnut Hill Academy) had three caused turnovers and a groundball for the No. 1 Terps (4-0).

Manhattan 11, Wagner 5

Kyle Gucwa (Bishop Shanahan) had five goals and an assist to lead Manhattan on Saturday.

Georgetown 16, Notre Dame 11

James Reilly (Conestoga) won 21 of 29 faceoffs to help the No. 3 Hoyas (3-0) topple No. 4 Notre Dame on Saturday.

Virginia 20, Syracuse 11

Matt Moore (Garnet Valley) had three goals to help No. 2 Virginia roll on Saturday.

Dartmouth 11, Bryant 9

Freshman Colin McGill (Malvern Prep) had a goal, two assists and two groundballs to lead the Big Green (1-1) on Saturday.

Ohio State 17, Harvard 12

Colby Smith (Hempfield) scored goals to lead the Buckeyes (4-0) on Saturday.

Rutgers 13, Loyola 12

Shane Knobloch (Moorestown) had three goals for Rutgers (5-0) on Saturday.
