Shippensburg University Athletics has hired Jacy Sterritt (Phoenixville) as an assistant women’s lacrosse coach.
Sterritt arrives at Shippensburg after one season as an assistant at Lycoming College under the direction of head coach Sarah Quigley.
As a collegian, Sterritt played at the University of Tampa and was a part of a Spartan team that went from a sub .500-record to a No. 3 national ranking during her junior season. Sterritt appeared in 42 games and made 10 starts with the Spartans, working primarily as a defender.
At the club level, Sterritt has coached with Dynamite Lacrosse for the past four seasons and worked as the club’s social media liaison. Sterritt played for Dynamite Lacrosse during her years as a prep athlete.
A native of Phoenixville, Sterritt was a two-time All-Pioneer Athletic Conference (PAC) First Team and an All-Area defender at Phoenixville under head coach Aamina Thornton.
Sterritt earned a bachelor’s degree in International Studies from the University of Tampa in 2020.
She replaces Nicole Hinkle, who was named the head women’s lacrosse coach at Misericordia on June 21.
