Staff Report

Oak Knoll used a 6-1 run to open the second half and held on for a 10-9 win over Moorestown today for its second straight New Jersey Tournament of Champions title at Mount Olive.

The Royals (22-1) also toppled Moorestown for the 2019 TOC championship.

The Quakers (18-3), Group 3 champs, had used a 6-2 surge to gain the 6-4 halftime lead. But the Royals, who won 15 of the 21 draws, dominated at the draw circle especially in the second half, winning all but one possession.

Oak Knoll scored the first four goals of the half and after Moorestown drew within 8-7, Colleen Quinn and Lily Ramsey each scored their third goal to give Oak Knoll the 10-7 lead with 8:36 left.

Emma Dengler brought the Quakers within 10-8 with 3:20 to play and Margaret Lawler (three goals) made it 10-9 with 1:07 left, but the comeback attempt failed.

Libby Hock and Caroline Button each added two goals for Moorestown and Katie Bucks scored once.
