Cardinal O’Hara has named Jim DiBattista as its head boys’ lacrosse coach, athletic director BJ Hogan confirmed.

DiBattista, the freshman football coach at O’Hara, has coached youth lacrosse at Interboro and Aston and helps run Archmere Academy’s winter indoor team. He has coached football and CYO basketball on and off for 30 years.

DiBattista is an Upper Darby graduate and played college football at Delaware Valley University.

He gave these comments on his new position:
 
Question: Why did you take the job and what positive do you see in the program?

DiBattista: “I took over the program as a challenge.  O’Hara lacrosse was hit hard by the pandemic like so many other programs across the state and country and I will do everything in my power to bring O’Hara Lacrosse back to being a contender.”

Question: What goals do you have for O’Hara lacrosse?

DiBattista: “To be better today than yesterday; that is all we can do as a program.”

Question: What is your general coaching philosophy?

DiBattista: “Take care of the small things and the big ones will take care of themselves.  Also only God and genetics control talent, but we as a team can control how hard we work.”
