Women’s D3 roundup: Haverford, Widener, DelVal earn victories

The Haverford College women’s lacrosse team opener the 2020 season with an impressive 20-15 victory over Moravian on Swan Field on Saturday.

Haverford was paced by a strong offensive effort as Hailey Morris had five goals and two assists and Julia Pascarella added four goals and three assists whiole Belle McMahon (Germantown Academy) had two goals, tow assists, five caused turnovers and four groundballs. The defense was also up for the early challenge, causing 22 turnovers, the second-most in program single-game history, while holding the Greyhounds to just 17-for-25 in clear attempts, including a 4-for-11 mark in the first half.

Widener 14, Elizabethtown 7

Caroline Kelley (Absegami-NJ) and Amber Bretz led the Pride with three goals apiece. Kelley also won six draw controls.

Delaware Valley 17, Lancaster Bible 12
Amanda McKeegan scored a career-high eight goals to lead DelVal.
