Drexel head coach Jill Batcheller has announced the 2020 team captains for the upcoming spring season. Seniors Courtney Dietzel (Central Bucks South), Jamie Schneidereith and Lindsay Shettle were all tabbed by Batcheller, who enters her second year at the helm of the Dragons.
Dietzel was also a team captain as a junior in 2019. She appeared in all 16 games, starting every contest excluding senior day. Her 20 goals and 23 points both ranked third on the team. She scored in each of the first 13 games of the season.
Schneidereith was a 2019 All-CAA Second Team selection with 11 goals, 12 draw controls and 13 points. She led the team with 15 caused turnovers and ranked third on the squad with 24 ground balls. This marks her second time as a team captain after earning the post as a sophomore in 2018.
Shettle enters her third-straight season as a team captain. She also led the Dragons as a redshirt sophomore in 2018 and a redshirt junior in 2019. She made 13 appearances last year with 12 starts. She picked up 12 ground balls and caused eight turnovers.
The 2020 season begins on the road at Johns Hopkins University on Saturday, Feb. 8 in Baltimore, Md. with the first home affair scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 15 against Manhattan College.
