The 2020 PA Roughriders won the NLF 2020A championship on Sunday at DeSales University. The team managed victories against Thunder LB3, Express North, an overtime Thriller in the semifinals versus Boneyard and an 8-3 win in the Championship game over Laxachussets.
The team was led by Rustin Midfielder Nick Madonna, Springfield Middie Aidan Shandley, Conestoga attackman Brendan Murphy, West Chester East Attackmen Bryant Maits and Joe Carrozza. The defense was led by the goalies Mick Lee of Conestoga and Brendan King of Ridley.
The team was coached by Chris Maits and Pete Carrozza,
“This group of kids and parents are such a pleasure to be around. The kids work hard and are selfless on the field and generous to each other. Win or lose they have been so much fun to be around,” said Maits.
This is the second Championship of the Summer for the Roughriders who also took the crown at the IMLCA Tournament in June.
