March 26, 2018 by Chris Goldberg

Phillylacrosse.com, Posted 3/26/18
This is one of a series of previews for the 2018 Philly lacrosse season

Interboro High School

League: Del-Val

Coach: Steph D’Alonzo, second year as head coach

Last year’s record: 9-8, qualified for district 1 playoffs, 7-2 (league)

Key returnees:
Izzy Ianncelli, Junior, midfield
Molly Dowling, Senior, midfield
Morgan Reed, Sophomore, midfield
Sam Schemeluk, Junior, defense
Ro Murphy, Senior, defense

Others to watch:
Keri Barnett, Freshman, center
Jordan Kennedy, Freshman, Defense

Coach’s outlook for 2018 season: “I am super excited to kick off my second season as head coach. This year we have a very balanced roster. We have a handful of returning players but are also very young and will start 2 Freshmen and 2 Sophomores. This year the team’s goals are to to win the Del Val and get back to the district one playoffs.”

The Hill School

League: Mid-Atlantic Prep League (MAPL)

Coach: Shannon Zwoyer, 5 years head coach

Last year’s record: 10-9, lost in Quarterfinals of PAISAA

Key returnees: Giavanna Tabarrini ’18 (M), Mariah Sweeney ’19 (GK), Jess Neumaier ’18 (D), Leah Forrest ’18 (A)

Others to watch: Jordan Hower ’20, Jess Ciarrocchi ’20, Tatumn Eccleston ’19, Tanner Eccleston ‘21

Coach’s outlook for 2018 season: “After graduating ten seniors last year, The Hill Girls’ Lacrosse team has some young, fresh talent to fill in those missing pieces. With so many new faces, including two new assistant coaches, this team is just starting to find their groove together and will look to continue to build on what has already been established over the opening weeks of preseason. The season will come with its challenges, but this group of girls has the grit, the heart, and the tenacity to overcome these with success.”
