From Press Release

Duke’s Mainline enjoyed a strong 2018 summer season and has continued to grow in its second year of existence.

The program added three new teams in 2018, squads for classes of 2022, 2024, 2025-26-27. The 2019-20, 2021 and 2023 teams competed in their second summer.

Duke’s MainLine won the 2019 A championship at the Liberty National Elite Classic

The 2019-20 team played well all summer and won the division championship (2019A) in its final tournament of the summer at The Liberty National Elite at the Delaware Turf Sports Complex. Congratulations to the players and Coaching staff and especially Coach Princehorn.

The 2021’s won the Lehigh tournament and reached thee playoffs in another. Congratulations to the coaches (Evan Bohner and Paul Mita) and players .

The 2023 team improved dramatically, going winless in its first tournament to finishing 3-1 in the second tournament, but missed the playoffs because of a tie-breaker, and then secured a spot in the semifinals at the Victory Summer Classic. Congratulations to the players and the Coaches (JP Bennett and Kevin Matthews).

All of Duke’s Mainline Lacrosse Club’s first year teams showed improvement over the three summer tournaments.

Duke’s Mainline 2021

During the club’s initial 2017 season, Duke’s Mainline had a base of approximately 60 players on three teams. During the 2018 summer season the program fielded six teams – High School, 21, 22, 23, 24 and 25-26 – with approximately 120 players. After its August 12th tryout, held at the Mainline Sports Center, Duke’s Mainline LC will be adding an additional 2022 team, a 2025 team and a combined 26-27 team.

Coach Mike Mackrides and staff have worked hard to draw talent from all over the Delaware County area with players coming from surrounding counties to create a very strong and growing program.

“We are looking for players that are coachable and strive to improve,” said 2021 Coach Bohner (Head Coach at Cardinal O’Hara HS). “You can have all the talent in the world, but if you don’t have the drive and willingness to internalize what your coaches are saying, you are making it very hard on yourself.”

Coach Mackrides stated,”My partners, Paul Mita (Cabrini assistant), Evan Bohner and I have worked very hard to find coaches that know how to communicate with the players and the parents. We want them to prepare the players for whatever the next level is for each and every player. Whether that is their High School Varsity team, Duke’s Elite, Duke’s Nationals, or a recruiting visit.”

Duke’s Mainline Coaches include current NCAA coaches and officials, as well as, current and former DI and DIII NCAA All-Americans.
