From Press Release

The Saint Joseph’s University women’s lacrosse program has added Hawk alumni Mallory Grey (Randolph, N.J./Randolph) (Saint Joseph’s ’16) to its coaching staff as a volunteer assistant coach, fourth-year head coach Alex Kahoe announced on Monday morning.

Grey was a four-year letterwinner and three-year starter on Hawk Hill from 2014-17 and will be focusing on the Hawks’ defense and goalkeepers this season.

“We are very excited to welcome Mallory back to our program as an assistant coach,” said Kahoe. “Mallory made a huge impact on our program as a player and will continue to do so as a coach. She will bring value to our program from her experience as a two-time captain along with her passion for the game and Saint Joseph’s women’s lacrosse.”

Grey coaches with Ultimate Lacrosse, a local club team, and has worked lacrosse camps with Finish Line Lacrosse and the University of North Carolina.

A two-year team captain, Grey led the Hawks to back-to-back A-10 postseason appearances from 2016-17.

Grey totaled 72 points on 44 goals and 28 assists to go with 117 draw controls, 75 ground balls, and 48 caused turnovers through 54 appearances, with 51 starts, as a two-way midfielder for the Crimson and Gray over her four years on Hawk Hill. In her junior and senior seasons alone, Grey went for 67 points (41g, 26a) alongside 82 draw controls, 56 ground balls, and 30 caused turnovers, and, as a senior, she was named to the Atlantic 10 All-Conference Second Team for her dominant efforts in the midfield.

Her 48 career caused turnovers tie for 10th all-time in SJU’s program history.

Grey was also a three-time recipient of the team’s Raymond Vasquez Award from 2015-17, an honor given to the student-athlete who best exemplifies the Jesuit values of “being a person for others.”

A native of Randolph, New Jersey and product of Randolph High School, Grey graduated from Saint Joseph’s University in May 2016 with a degree in sports marketing and is currently working toward her M.S. in international marketing from SJU.
