From Press Release
Women’s Professional Lacrosse League (WPLL) is excited to announce a new, multi-year partnership with Under Armour and Longstreth Sporting Goods, naming the global performance brand as the official outfitter of the WPLL.
As part of the partnership, Under Armour, through Longstreth, will exclusively supply the equipment, footwear, and apparel for training and game day uniforms for both the professional league and its futures program.
The Women’s Professional Lacrosse League, “WPLL,” is set to launch summer 2018, with an exhibition weekend coming fall 2017. The founder, Michele DeJuliis, describes the league premise as “for players, by players.” The WPLL will open with five teams to start, including high-level post-collegiate lacrosse and a futures program, alike, for tomorrow’s professional players.
“As the founder of the WPLL, we want to provide our players and personnel with the very best when it comes to performance,” says Michele DeJuliis (Ultimate Lacrosse Founder), league founder and CEO. “Under Armour and Longstreth are leaders in the industry – they are creative and innovative. They are dialed in and engaged to the needs of athletes to perform at the highest level possible. We are excited to work closely with Under Armour and Longstreth Sporting Goods as we build a league that was created to impact athletes everywhere.”
The WPLL will boast five teams in its inaugural summer 2018 season: Baltimore Brave, New England Command, New York Fight, Philadelphia Fire and Upstate Pride.
“We are proud to partner with Under Armour to be the exclusive outfitter for WPLL. It’s an exciting time for women’s lacrosse and we’re glad to be on the forefront of this endeavor.” says Dave Dahle, co-owner Longstreth Sporting Goods. “Longstreth has a strong relationship with Under Armour and is pleased to be able to work with them to outfit the best of the best players.”
“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to support the best female athletes in our sport with best in class equipment in conjunction with Longstreth. We believe the WPLL will encourage the growth of our sport through both the structure of the league and the futures program.”
