From Press Release
Marquette University head coach Meredith Black and the women’s lacrosse program welcomes the addition of 12 newcomers to the squad for the 2017-18 academic year.
All newcomers have four years of eligibility remaining with the Golden Eagles and will begin practicing when the squad starts the fall portion of its season in September.
“This is a talented group coming in,” Black said of her freshman class. “All of them have great high school accolades and will add depth to all positions, including goalie.
“I think this class can have an immediate impact on our success this year and going forward,” Black added. “They bring a lot of speed and athleticism and will push our team to get better, break records and take this program to the next step.”
This year’s class is made up of five true midfielders, four midfield/attack combos, two defense and a goalie. Six states are represented, including three student-athletes from Maryland, two each from Illinois, Kentucky and New York, and one from Pennsylvania, Virginia and Marquette’s first signee from Wisconsin.
Marquette enters its seventh year as a program, including its sixth season of competition in 2017-18.
