At Princeton (2-1), Michael Sowers (Upper Dublin) leads the Tigers with nine assists and 16 points. His per-game numbers rank sixth and 12th in Division I. Sowers, the current Ivy League Rookie of the Week, had had at least four points in each game this season. He has more points after three games than any other freshman in Princeton52 history, and in fact if he does not have a point in either of his next two games, he’ll still have more points after five games than any other Princeton freshman.

In addition, after just three games he ranks 10th in assists and 14th in points by a freshman at Princeton for an entire season. Sowers is also third in Division I in shooting percentage, with seven goals on 11 shots, for a .636 rate.

The Tigers host Johns Hopkins today at 3 on ESPNU.

Dox Aitken (Haverford School) has helped No. 11 Virginia to a 4-1 start. Aitken had four goals in Wednesday’s 18-12 win over High Point and has 16 goals and 2 assists as well as 12 groundballs at midfield. Aitken made his first start of the year on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, at Cincinnati, Monica Borzillo (Conestoga) has won two straight Big East Freshmen of the Week honors and has team highs of 10 goals and 7 assists for the Bearcats (1-3).

At Stanford, Mikaela Watson (Springside Chestnut Hill Academy) is starting at midfield and has 3 goals and 1 assist as well as 5 groundballs and 5 caused turnovers for the Cardinal (4-2).
