High School: Methacton

Graduation Year: 2016

Position:
Midfield

College Choice: Manhattan College

Club Affiliation: Dynamite Lacrosse

Athletics honors: Four year varsity player in lacrosse and cross country (team captain in both sports): Lacrosse: 2015 All PAC-10 and All-Area honorable mention selection; 2015 Methacton Defensive MVP; 2015 stats: 20 goals, 12 assists, 32 points, 51 ground balls, 32 draw controls, 27 forced turnovers, 29 controlled turnovers, 5 interceptions

Academic/community service: MHS Mini-Thon (member of Advertising Committee)

College Major: Undecided

Other school considered: Saint Joseph’s

Why did you choose this school? “In addition to receiving a quality education from Manhattan College, I will also be able to enjoy living near the Big Apple! The lacrosse program is exactly what I am looking for, being able to play Division One under a very admirable coaching staff.”

Expectations for the upcoming season: “We aim to end up in the PAC-10 championship, but hopefully with a different outcome than last year. Our team really plays well together and we will have a lot of fun this season.”

Reflections on high school career: “Being able to play lacrosse in high school has been a huge opportunity for me. Thanks to the team sport nature of lacrosse, I am able to have a great support system by my side on and off the field.”

Thank You: “Thank you to my parents for being extremely supportive. Thank you Coach Markle, Coach Leap, and Coach Cam from Methacton’s team. And thanks to Coaches Ali Allen and Maureen Burger from Dynamite. My biggest thank you is to my sister Kim who was awesome throughout everything and taught me how to play.”

Methacton coach Laurie Markle: “Deb is a great two-way player. She is excellent on defense and is a lefty, which helps make her deceptive. Deb scores a lot of goals and has good speed – loves to run in the midfield. Being left-handed makes her a perfect complement to Sara Hughes (right-handed). I project her to play defensive wing in college, and I think she’ll be successful at Manhattan.”
