STEPS Philadelphia girls’ HS roundup: Carroll downs Springfield-Delco; @MethactonGirlsL wins

Avery Murphy collected seven goals and an assist and Isabelle Schmitt had a goal, four groundballs and five draw controls as visiting Archbishop Carroll defeated Springfield-Delco, 10-7, Monday in a non-league girls’ lacrosse game involving two teams ranked high in the Phillylacrosse.com Rankings.Steps-Philly-copy121

Carroll, No. 5, is 3-0, while the No. 6 Cougars fall to 3-1.

Emily Santana led Springfield-Delco with four goals and two assists and Bridget Whitaker had two goals.

Methacton 11, North Penn 9

Sara Hughes had four goals, Deb Peifer had two goals and two assists and Jackie Cerchio added a pair as the Warriors claimed the non-league win.

Emily Schultze led the Maidens with four goals.
