Phillylacrosse.com, Posted 3/21/15
This is one of a series of previews for the 2015 Philly lacrosse season

Villa Maria Academy

League: AACA

Head Coach: Jessica Chadwin, 5th year as Head Coach
Girls-preview
Last year’s record: Overall Record: 16-3, League Record: 12-1 AACA Co-Champs, 2nd round of Districts

Key returnees:
Caroline Mackrides- senior, midfield
Katie Manta- senior, midfield
Abbey Chick- senior, defender
Lauren Dunn- junior, attacker

Coach’s outlook for 2015: “Villa is looking to work hard every day on and off the field. We are a young team and it will take time to learn how to play with new faces on the field. We have a lot of talent and every member of the team is excited for the 2015 season.”

Franklin Towne Charter High School

League: Philadelphia Public League – District 12

Head Coach: Coach Lindsey Specht, 2nd year as coach

Last year’s record: 7-4

Key returnees:
Kaitlin Iavecchia – Center
Angela O’Donnell – Attack
Richnie Jasmin – Defense
Sarah Shotwell – Attack

Coach’s outlook for 2015: “As a beginning lacrosse team last year, with only a handful of players who had ever seen the game of lacrosse prior to the first day of tryouts, I was ecstatic as to how well they did. With 9 returning seniors and many other returning underclassmen, I am just as excited to see how they progress this year and believe that they can make it to playoffs without a doubt. We will have more time to focus on finesse this year as opposed to only working on the basics that was necessary last year.”
