Lawrenceville School (N.J.) 2016 attackman Zach Lipkin has committed to play Division III lacrosse at Oberlin College.

Zach Lipkin

High School: The Lawrenceville School, N.J.

Graduation Year: 2016

Position: Attack

College Choice: Oberlin College

Club Affiliation: The Duke’s Lacrosse Club

Major lacrosse honors, All-Star teams, Camps, Showcases: Jake Reed Nike Blue Chip, Lawrenceville Varsity Captain for 2016 Season, Dukes Automatic

Academic honors: Honor Roll Student Throughout High School

What will you major in/study? Pre-Law

Why did you choose the school? “I decided on Oberlin for a variety of reasons. To start, the school’s academics are unparalleled. The Pre-Law program is very strong and will provide me with the utilities I need to be successful and get into a strong graduate school. The campus is beautiful and accommodates just under 3,000 students, which is the general size I was looking for. Also, the proximity to Cleveland attracted me. In terms of lacrosse, Coach (Topher) Grossman is driven and has a vision for the future of the team that I really bought into and want to be a part of. Overall, it is a great fit.”

Team’s outlook for 2016 HS season: “The Lawrenceville team is geared up to potentially have a really big season. While we are trying to fill some holes on the defensive end, we retained a lot of our offensive firepower. We also acquired a couple talented Post Graduates and new student athletes who should help us be successful.”

Thank You: “First and foremost I’d like to thank my family for continuously supporting me since I started playing lacrosse. None of this would be possible without their assistance.

“I thank the CBAA lacrosse program for helping me develop as a lacrosse player in my younger years and giving me the opportunity to play starting in the second grade.

“Also, I thank the Duke’s LC, namely Coach Helm and Coach Christmas. They played major roles in helping me navigate through the recruiting circuit and pushing me to be the best player possible.

“Finally, I thank all of my coaches at Lawrencevill3: Coach Fitzpatrick, Coach Kossoff, Coach Duffy, Coach Heavy, Coach Cole and Coach Negropointe. These guys have been pivotal in my development on and off of the lacrosse field. They have all dedicated themselves to making sure I am the best person and best player I can be. They never fail to motivate me or push me. I look forward to my final year with them and would not want to do it with any other coaching staff.”
