Sean Valentino

High School: Hempfield High School

Graduation Year: 2015

Position: Attackman-Midfielder

College Choice: Drexel University

Club Affiliations: Duke’s LC and Low & Away-Lancaster

Major lacrosse honors: National Invite 175, Baltimore Summer Kickoff All-Star, All-League Honorable Mention, Jake Reed Nike Blue Chip summer 2014

Academic honors, service projects: United Way Christmas Project For The Needy and Day of Caring, Toys For Tots, Global Aid Network volunteer

What will you major in/study? Business

Why did you choose Drexel? “I liked what I saw on my visit to Drexel and I really like Coach (Brian) Voelker. They are always making a run at wining their conference and I want to play for a competitive program. Drexel has a very good business program and it is located in a big city, which I like. Also, it will give me a chance to play with my brother.”

What is your team’s outlook for the season? “We’re looking to defend our League championship. We lost a couple of seniors that were key parts of our team last year but, over all, we are very solid at every position this season. If we play up to our potential and keep mistakes down, I think we’ll be tough to beat.”

Additional Comments: “First, I would like to thank my parents, I wouldn’t have this opportunity without them. Secondly, I want to thank my Hempfield coaches, especially Kyle Piper for spending extra time with me to help improve my game. I also would like to thank all my club coaches from the Duke’s and Low & Away-Lancaster, they played a big part in my development and for getting me exposure.”

Other schools considered: Loyola, Delaware, Rutgers
