Patrick Richardson

High School: Gloucester Catholic High School

Graduation Year: 2014

Position: Midfield

College Choice: Widener University

Club Affiliation: South Jersey Shamrocks Lacrosse Club

Major lacrosse honors: 2013 1st Team All-South Jersey, 2013 1st Team All-Conference, Jake Reed-Nike Blue Chip Rising Junior & Rising Senior, Univ Delaware Battle of the Hotbeds All-Star 2012, most goals in HS team history (102) by end of junior year

What will you major in/study? Criminal Justice

Why did you choose Widener? “I chose Widener because it’s very close to home and I didn’t want to go to far, I’m a mamma’s boy, she’s never missed any of my games spring or summer and still won’t have too now. Also it’s a great academic school and I really enjoyed my visit with the team and it was a lot of fun.

“Coach (Brendan) Dawson has had a lot of success and his record shows it. I know a few other friend who also go there to make the move to college easier.”

What is your team’s outlook for next season? “I think we’ll be very competitive once again with a lot of our offense coming back from last year. Everybody is putting in so much work during the off-season to better themselves for the upcoming season, which will really help out a lot too.”

Thank You: “I would like to thank my Mom, her boyfriend Tim, Grandparents, Aunt Molly and Uncle Ray for helping me get to this point. They’ve done much of the work to get me here, driving me all over the East coast and practices everyday and have been nothing but support and helpful not only with lacrosse but in life as well, I wouldn’t be anything without them and I owe them a lot.

“Also my HS Coach Ryan Murphy and Shamrocks coaches Bill Keane, Mike Yarusso, Steve Picot, for everything they’ve done building me as a player and helping me develop all my skills and for all their support as well, I wish them the best of luck in their future coaching duties.”

Other schools considered: VMI, Bellamine, Tampa, Chestnut Hill, RIT, Stevenson
