Gloucester Catholic High School (NJ) senior midfielder Patrick Richardson has made a commitment to play Division III lacrosse at Widener University.

What will you major in/study? Criminal Justice
Why did you choose Widener? “I chose Widener because it’s very close to home and I didn’t want to go to far, I’m a mamma’s boy, she’s never missed any of my games spring or summer and still won’t have too now. Also it’s a great academic school and I really enjoyed my visit with the team and it was a lot of fun.
“Coach (Brendan) Dawson has had a lot of success and his record shows it. I know a few other friend who also go there to make the move to college easier.”
What is your team’s outlook for next season? “I think we’ll be very competitive once again with a lot of our offense coming back from last year. Everybody is putting in so much work during the off-season to better themselves for the upcoming season, which will really help out a lot too.”

They’ve done much of the work to get me here, driving me all over the East coast and practices everyday and have been nothing but support and helpful not only with lacrosse but in life as well, I wouldn’t be anything without them and I owe them a lot.
