Longstreth girls’ recruit: Springfield-Delco junior MF-ATT Spence commits to Washington College

Springfield-Delco junior midfield-attack Autumn Spence has made a commitment to play Division III lacrosse at Washington College.

College choice: Washington College

Club affiliation: Phantastix

Major lacrosse honors: 3 year Varsity player

What will you major in/study? Business Management

Why did you choose Washington College? “Washington College felt like the best fit for me. The campus is beautiful and the coaches are wonderful. The academic programs were very strong and the campus is very welcoming. All of the students have a lot of school spirit and everyone on the campus is supportive of all of the athletic programs. I immediately felt involved in their lacrosse program and I can’t wait to become a Shorewoman!”

Outlook for your High School team? “I think this season will be strong for my High School team. We have a lot of potential and talent. I believe we can go really far, and will do great if we play as a team and focus on our goals.”

Additional comments: “I would like to thank my High School Coaches Chrissy Poplawaski, Kathleen Geiger, Keith Broome, and Sandy Carter. I especially appreciate all of the guidance and support that Coach Poplawski has provided to me through my high school career, as well as with the recruiting process.

“I would also like to thank my Phantastix Coaches Lorraine Beers, Sue Frazier, and JoAnn Yusko for helping me through the recruiting process and for helping me become a stronger player.

“I am especially thankful for my parents and family’s love and support. I would like to thank them for taking me to each and every tournament and game, for always being there and offering their support and guidance.

“Finally, I would like to thank all of my Springfield and my Phantastix teammates for helping me be a better and stronger player, and for making my experiences amazing!”
