High School: Methacton

Graduation Year: 2014

Position: Attack/Midfield

College Choice: Southern Florida (Lakeland, Fla.)

Club Affiliation: Dynamite (Limerick)

Major lacrosse honors: 2013 All-Area first team (Mercury), 2013 PAC-10 All-Conference honorable mention; 2013 Methacton Offensive Team MVP; 48 goals, 25 assists, 24 ground balls in 2013 season

Academic/community service: Meritorious and distinguished honors; 3.5 GPA; Save-A-Life Club; volunteer youth lacrosse coach

College Major: Business/Marketing

Why did you choose Florida Southern?
“Great academics, great location, beautiful campus and a growing lacrosse program. I was really interested in going somewhere that the weather was warm. Southern Florida is the best of both worlds. The business school is well known. The new coach (Kara Reber) has started a growing program (23-8 during her 2-year tenure). When I went there for my visit, all the girls seemed very nice and seemed happy (with the program’s direction).”

What is your high school team’s outlook for the upcoming season? “Last year was a surprise, how well we did with so many freshmen playing. This is my last chance at Methacton and hopefully we can pull through. The team is always growing from all of our experiences – wins or losses. I am very excited for my senior year.”

Additional comments: “I started playing in fourth grade and I really enjoy lacrosse. I’d like to thank my parents for taking me all over the place (to tournaments). They’ve sacrificed so much for me. I’d also like to thank my Dynamite Club Coaches, Aamina Thornton and Amara Thornton-Brown, for always pushing me to improve. I’d also like to thank Coach (Laurie) Markle for giving me the opportunity to play varsity as a freshman at Methacton.”

Other schools considered: Temple, Drexel, Penn, Millersville, Susquehanna, East Stroudsburg, Scranton
