Mount St. Joseph senior midfielder Maddie Haas has committed to play Division I lacrosse at Monmouth University.

Maddie Haas log:

Maddie Haas

High school: Mount Saint Joseph Academy

Graduation year: 2012

Position: Midfield

College choice: Monmouth University

Club affiliation: Ultimate Goal Lacrosse

Major lacrosse honors: Varsity Captain, Four Year Starter, Intensity Award, Philly Showcase deBeer All-Star

What will you major in/study: Marketing

Why did you choose school: “I chose this school because I thought this school was the best fit for me. With the size, location and a great academic recognition. The team also played a major role in my decision process because they were a close knit family team, and what I look for in a team is togetherness. The girls were also very welcoming and supportive of my decision.”

Outlook for your high school team: “Under Coach Duck (Jenny Duckenfeild) we will compete at a very high level and we are optimistic of a winning season. I am very excited to make Mount lacrosse a threatening name in the women’s lacrosse community.”

Other comments: “A shout out to my coaches, Coach Duck, Coach Lori (Ehret), and (Ultimate coaches) Michelle DeJulius, Lauren Morton and Chelsea Rosiek for having the confidence in me to push me and help me reach the D1 level. I also want to thank my family, especially my brother who inspired me to play lacrosse in the first place.”
