Olivia Gannon fired in five goals as host Mount St. Joseph stunned Council Rock North, 11-4, today in a non-league girls’ lacrosse game.
The Magic improved to 5-2 while CR North – ranked No. 10 in the PIAA in the PA Media Rankings – fell to 5-2.
The Mount dominated form the start and seized a 6-1 halftime lead. Gannon scooped four groundballs and Natalie Bohner added four goals for the Magic while Dominique Nyzio added a pair and Emily Ehret was a standout at midfield (seven draw controls).
Alex Lista made seven saves in goal.
The Mount limited CR North to eight shots. Hannah Plappert, Kara Magley, Molly Doyle and Natalie Maher each scored once for the Indians.
“Council Rock North is a solid team,” said Magic coach Jen Duckenfield. “The Mount played fearless today and the defense really clicked.”
Wissahickon 18, Upper Moreland 5
Laura Frankenfield collected five goals and five assist to lead the Trojans to the Suburban One American win.
Unionville 13, Bishop Shanahan 6
Kris Abens had four goals and two assists to lead the Indians in the Ches-Mont win.
Wendig had three goals for Shanahan.
Harriton 18, Penncrest 6
Caleigh Foust had seven goals and one assist and Sabrina Tabasso added six goals and one assist to lead the undefeated Rams (7-0) to the Central League win.
